Skip hire in Berry
Berry is a country town on the northern edge of the Shoalhaven, surrounded by farmland and rural-residential blocks. That mix shapes the jobs: renovating older homes in town, and clearing sheds, fencing and green waste on acreage outside it. At least one Shoalhaven skip operator lists Berry in its service area, and others travel from Nowra.
For a single-room renovation a 4 m³ skip is common. For shed or farm clean-ups with old timber and iron, 6–9 m³ is more typical. Scrap metal is usually accepted, but farm chemicals, sump oil and tyres are not. See what can go in a skip.
Access on rural blocks
On long gravel driveways or sloping paddocks, tell the operator about access, gates and soft ground. A heavy truck can bog on wet grass, so a firm, level spot close to the road is best. Mention it in the form and the operator can suggest the right bin and truck.
Local tip: Berry depot
Shoalhaven City Council runs the Berry Recycling & Waste Depot at 175 Agars Lane, Berry. It's smaller than the main West Nowra depot, so check council's website for its current hours and what it accepts before you go. For asbestos, council's West Nowra and Ulladulla depots take it by appointment only.
Skips on the street in Berry
A skip on your own land generally doesn't need council approval. On the road or footpath, treat it as needing Shoalhaven City Council approval under section 68. Our permit guide lists what to ask.
